WORKSHOP OF TEXTILE PRINTING
Tutor: textile designer Eelike Virve

During a one day textile printing workshop the participants are taught to design small-sized textile objects. Suitable materials would be T-shirts, pillowcases, table mats, scarves, bags etc. 
In both art and design, printing is one of the quickest possible techniques to come to a final result. At the same time, printing gives room for experimenting through various techniques, materials and colors.
During the course one can learn some easier ways of using silk-screen and template printing techniques. The course will start by choosing a shape and stylizing it to make it suitable for the chosen printing technique. The participants are taught how to make a pattern and what is a reprise of patterns, also how to create a balanced composition using several different elements. Another part of the course is learning both multicolor and rainbow printing; foil and flock printing as special techniques.
The colors used in the workshop will be opaque and transparent water-based colors. 
Please bring along a small size textile for printing (T-shirt, bag, pillowcase, etc).

HANDCRAFTING DAY FOR CHILDREN
Tutor: graphic artist Britta Benno

Participation is free of charge. 
On the 19th of June the children are welcome to come and handcraft with the help of a tutor in the courtyard of Evald Okas Museum. The participants will be able to learn how to make recycled paper. Using previously prepared paper mass and suitable frames the children can make decorated unique paper according to their own liking, which they can later one use to make a greeting card if they wish.

GRAPHIC ART DAY FOR CHILDREN
Tutor: graphic artist Britta Benno

Participation is free of charge. 
During the graphic art course the children can learn and try one of the easiest and fastest relief printing techniques – linocut.
The works prepared during the day are miniature and as the result of the course the children will get self-printed bookmarks or cards for themselves. 
The work process includes sketching the ideas, cutting out the picture, covering it with paint, printing and cutting out the bookmark-sized paper. It takes around 2-3 hours for a student to complete the full process.
During the day, the tutor introduces children to the world of graphic art by giving them a short overview of traditional graphic fine art and its’ technical principles. With the help of examples  children will be given a short overview of art history. 
Graphic Art day is suitable for children from the age of 8. The maximum size of the group is 10 participants.

ART DAY FOR CHILDREN
Tutor: painter Lii Pähkel.

Participation is free of charge. 
Art Day for children has become a traditional event in Evald Okas Museum and it’s suitable for the children between the ages from 5 to 12. On this day, the participants have the opportunity to paint and draw with the guidance of the painter Lii Pähkel. If the weather is fine the Art Day takes place in the courtyard of the museum. No previous knowledge or training in art is needed to participate. The most important prerequisite would be an interest in painting and drawing and a wish to spend a nice day in the museum.
