tutor Piret Valk.
Piret Valk is a textile designer and teacher of textile design in Estonian Academy of Art and in Tallinn Folk University. Workshop of textile printing takes place in frame of exhibition „Names and Faces“ in Evald Okas Museum and its´ theme is portrait and writing. During the workshop it is possible to learn how to stylize a portrait, details of a human face or a shape of writing suitable for printing and print it on a textile. You will experiment how to create different versions of one shape when using different techniques, colors, clues or materials. For realization of an idea we use transparent, cover, puff and pearl pigment colors, flock and folium printing. Source techniques are: stamp printing, screen printing, silk printing, monotype, iris printing, diatype.
In addition to experimenting by the ends of the course everybody will have a T-shirt, a bag or any other printed textile designed by yourself.
Duration of the first workshop of textile printing is planned one day. In case of further interest it is possible to arrange additional workshop next day or in the future. Everybody who are interested in printing are welcome to participate. A maximum size of the group is 10-15 persons.
